Hollowed out of the cliff, received in the mansion.
Yunak Evleri, in the Yunak quarter of Ürgüp, lives inside a cliff. Ten cave houses, hollowed out in the 5th and 6th centuries, have been restored there.
At its foot, a 19th-century Greek mansion receives the guests. One enters through built stone and sleeps in hollowed stone.
The rooms are cut into the rock. Most of them open onto a courtyard, a terrace or the valley.
Its name comes from the yunak, the old village fountain where people came to wash their linen.
This page draws on public sources: the house’s website, its own publications and the press. We are confirming it with its hosts; it will be completed with their replies.
