Before it was an address, it was a church.
Sacred House is a Greek house some two hundred and fifty years old, in Ürgüp. For a time, it was a church. The stone has kept both.
Its restoration was entrusted to Turan Gülcüoğlu. Rather than erase, he kept the walls, and each room was given its story: the Harem, the Byzantine Treasury, Lilith.
Beneath the house, the spa is called Inferno. Its mosaics are fire red, the opposite of the calm of the stone. One goes down to it.
In 2014, the International Hotel Awards gave it Best Renovation and Design. In 2026, it appears once again in the Michelin Guide selection.
This page draws on public sources: the house’s website, its own publications and the press. We are confirming it with its hosts; it will be completed with their replies.
